#ChefLife - African American Culinary Educators .... there needs to be more

Are you about that #ChefLife???? Will you be taking it to another level?

I see many in Culinary School yet do you have plans for making more of a difference in your chosen field, by attaining more education?

Or is the kitchen, management, service... just enough???

There are many folks with culinary school certification and college degrees... make that magic happen....

Some of you are being called HIGHER....

I remembered articles after I first arrived in Charleston 4 years ago about this Chef... as Charleston life progressed.. our paths have crossed at many occasions. Im still working on the Quest Culinary videos Chef!!! LOL

In recent discussion with Kevin Mitchell - Chef Instructor of The Culinary Institute of Charleston .. Culinary Educator at Trident Technical College.

the topic of there not being many "African American culinary educators" period....

"We need to encourage students to further their education.  You need a minimum of a Bachelor to teach and eventually a Masters"

As with any field we must be encouraged to pursue avenues of higher education which allows diversity in curriculum and student recruitment.

There are many levels to #ChefLife... reality TV has provided a false perspective. We see y'all sweatin' :-D

Im blessed to see many here on FB who are pursuing their culinary paths... yet I ask... how high up the educational food ladder" are you ready to ascend?

Keep this in mind ... "Our life span is short you can't kick it in a kitchen forever.  Education is the natural progression"

What say you MrNate Wilson, Patorah Blackman, Angeline Temple, Brandy Phatman's Delon ??

Give Thanks to these two gentlemen... Benjamin Dennis, Ira Hill they spoil me here in Charleston. through them I see ALL LEVELS of #ChefLife. 1 <3
