the value

The Little Things

When the air whispered your name
and I called
it was a little thing
that picture of
nothing
nowhere
that suddenly
appear
and turned
your frown upside down
little thing

that moment when you
simply thought
and a word
of PRAISE
appeared

did you not know these
were the little things

when you said
you would be there
but never called
the little things

courtesy is a little thing
if you didnt receive it
you would think it was a big thing

for all the "I will call"
where the silence continued
little things

for all the calls about your info
but never a how are you
the little things

for all the talk of
I want to be down here
yet you moved to the ends of the earth

people are there
for the little things
the laughter
and even sometimes the pain

the little things bring strength
they let you know you have character
the little things sustain you
and make you stronger

the little things are believing
in folks when they dont
even know where
they are going
the little things

the little things show
the the overall package
may indeed not be for me

the little things brought
a fleeting moment
of happiness
yet has
taught a great truth
not everyone
believes in the value of
the little things
